Nightcap

A drink taken at the end of the evening, usually short, strong, and warming.

The nightcap belongs to the digestif family: brandy, amaro, an aged rum, a small Old Fashioned. The point is to close the evening, not to open a new one — one drink, sipped slowly, then bed.
