Aperitivo

The Italian pre-meal drink ritual — lightly bitter, low-ABV, taken with snacks.

Aperitivo is both a drink category and a time of day in Italy: the hour before dinner when a Negroni Sbagliato, an Aperol Spritz, or a glass of vermouth arrives alongside olives and chips. Campari, Aperol, Cynar, and the vermouths are all aperitivo bases.
