Chill Haze

The temporary cloudiness that appears in a very cold spirit-forward cocktail.

When a stirred drink is chilled below about −5 °C, dissolved botanical oils and long-chain esters fall out of suspension and scatter light. The haze looks like a flaw but is actually a mark of properly cold service; it clears as the drink warms in the glass.
